Aerial building inspection or building survey: what are you buying?

An aerial building inspection and a building survey are not the same purchase. Watch this guide to how aerial evidence capture, specialist interpretation and agreed deliverables fit together, and what to confirm before booking.

Three different things

  • Aerial evidence capture: photographs and video of the building areas agreed for the assignment.
  • Specialist interpretation: review of that evidence by an appropriate professional where you need an opinion.
  • Agreed deliverables: the files and format you receive, such as original images, annotations or a report.

What to agree before booking

  • Which areas of the building should be captured.
  • Who will review the evidence, if interpretation is required.
  • Whether you need original images, annotated images or a report, and in what format.

Physical access may still be required for testing, sampling, repairs or areas that cannot be seen from the air.

About this video

The footage shows separate example projects from our existing library. It is not a condition assessment of the buildings shown. This guide is general information, not a professional survey or technical diagnosis.
